Self Regional Funds Genetic Research Collaborative Between GGC and Clemson
Greenwood Genetic Center and Clemson University Begin Collaboration on Autism and Cancer Projects
(Greenwood, SC, June 13, 2014) – Following much behind-the-scenes planning and several recent public announcements, the work of the Greenwood Genetic Center/Clemson University research and education collaborative is underway. Officials at both institutions have announced the first recipients of research funding provided by Self Regional Healthcare (SRH). In February, SRHC announced a partnership with Clemson and GGC to serve as the lead hospital partner in the collaborative. As part of that commitment, the hospital pledged a total of $5.6 million toward the project including $1.2 million per year for three years to fund genetic research.
