Gene Week 2017 Schedule Announced

The second annual Gene Week, celebrating the mission of GGC, will take place in Greenwood from September 30 to October 7, 2017. All events will be held on the GGC campus (117 Gregor Mendel Circle) and are open to the public.


Telegenetics at GGC - Front Line Genomics Magazine

GGC's Dr. Michael Lyons, Associate Clinical Geneticist, Co-Director of Clincial Services at GGC and Director of the Center's Telegenetics program, provided a glimpse into how telegenetics overcomes barriers for access to quality patient care. The article was published in the September issue of Front Line Genomics magazine.

Kaufmann Reports on Major Clinical Trial Weakness

GGC researcher calls for better outcome measures for neurodevelopmental disorders

July 14, 2017 – Newer and better ways to measure outcomes in clinical trials for neurodevelopmental disorders are necessary if such trials are to be successful, reports a new study published in the Journal of Neurodevelopmental Disorders.

Dr. Walter Kaufmann, Ravenel Boykin Curry Chair in Genetic Therapeutics and Director of the Center for Translational Research (CTR) in the Greenwood Genetic Center's Greenville office, was the senior author of the study which he says has important implications for all clinical trials.
