Genetic Services Coordinator - Columbia

Margaret joined Greenwood Genetic Center in June of 2005 with experience in providing needs assessment and service provision to individuals with disabilities and many health problems. Briefly highlighting pertinent positions of Margaret’s career, she has been a service coordinator for the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs, a social service coordinator for patients with dementia and assistant manager for an Assistive Technology provider.

At GGC, Margaret coordinates genetic services for clients of the Department of Disabilities and Special Needs who live in Sumter, Orangeburg, Colleton, Bamberg, Barnwell, Allendale and Hampton counties. With participation of DDSN service providers, Margaret actively ensures access to genetic services by scheduling/coordinating the genetic evaluations and any follow-up services, assisting with any recommended genetic testing, ensuring the provision of genetic counseling and participating in any on-going educational efforts for clients, families, DDSN providers and the community.
