Race the Helix
October 4, 2014
Annual event to benefit the Greenwood Genetic Center Foundation
Race the Helix is an annual 5K race and 1 mile run/walk now in its fourth year. The race is spearheaded by Stephen and Jodi Shenal. The Shenals started 'Race the Helix' as a way to use their passion for running to bring awareness to and raise funds for the Greenwood Genetic Center. The Shenal's daughter, Ryleigh, was diagnosed with a rare chromosome deletion by GGC, and she is cared for in the Greenwood office. All proceeds from the event go to support the Greenwood Genetic Center Foundation.
Race the Helix is held each October and in addition to the race and walk, includes fun family activities, tours of GGC and breakfast for all race participants.
