Emily re-joined the Greenwood Genetic Center in 2021, after starting a genetic counseling service that focused mainly on adult cancer genetics in Liberty, MO. She had worked as an administrative assistant at the Greenwood Genetic Center from 2017-2018. After her time as an administrative assistant in the Greenville office, she attended the genetic counseling program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. At GGC’s Greenville office, Emily now provides general genetic counseling for adult and pediatric patients, and cancer genetic counseling for adults. Emily is certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling and is a member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors.

Lucy's Story

When our daughter Lucy had a metabolic crisis at 7 days old, we were shocked and devastated to find out that she was born with a rare genetic disorder (MSUD). Her newborn screening results did not make it back in time to prevent the crisis, and no one at our local hospital was familiar with the disease. They did not know how to treat her.
