Melinda Whetsell is a registered dietitian with the Greenwood Genetic Center metabolic team. Melinda joined the Greenwood Genetic Center in 2002 from the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control where she was a nutritionist for the Children’s with Special Health Care Needs program for 10 years. Melinda has over 20 years experience providing nutrition services to children with special health care needs. She currently works out of the Charleston office providing medical nutrition therapy for individuals with inborn errors of metabolism. She is responsible for nutrition assessment and follow-up of individuals with inborn errors of metabolism at clinics in Charleston and Florence. She also provides follow-up and coordination of
nutrition services for individuals with inborn errors of metabolism between clinic visits.

Melinda is a member of Genetics Metabolic Dietitians International, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, The South Carolina Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Society for Inherited Metabolic Disorders.
